Friday Fabric Refresh

Hello!  Today I am introducing a new recurring blog post called Friday Fabric Refresh!  These posts will be all about showcasing my patterns, but refreshed with new fabrics!

Catalina by Fig Tree for Moda Fabrics

One of my favorite ways to waste pass time (besides sewing!) is to recolor my quilt designs in different fabrics.  I use the Electric Quilt computer program to design and draw my quilts.  It is very easy to change out the fabric that I use.  I really enjoy seeing how a particular pattern might look in different fabrics and colorways and thought you might enjoy seeing them also!

I'm going to start out trying to do this every week.  We'll see how it goes.  Life often gets in the way of my plans, so no promises!

If there is a particular pattern of mine that you want to see in a particular fabric collection, let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do in a future blog post!  I can generally get fabric swatches for most Moda collections from the past several years or Riley Blake collections from the past couple of years.  Upcoming fabric lines are also usually an option!

This week I decided to focus on the new Fig Tree collection from Moda called Catalina.  It is just beginning to arrive in quilt shops and it is so gorgeous!

Let's dive right in!  The stars of these posts are the quilts, so I'll mostly let the pictures speak for themselves!

First up is Garden Path, which is an easy layer cake quilt.

Next is Shining Stars, which is one of my favorites!  I used the navy dot for the background.

Another of my favorite patterns is Spun Sugar.  I used the navy gingham for the setting triangles and the navy dot for the accent pinwheels.

The next quilt is Stargazing and is a fun fat quarter quilt.

Next up is Americana which is a great scrappy star quilt.

Finally, I have the Kisses version of Blooming Kisses, another great layer cake pattern.  I used the navy dot for the accent diamonds.

Or maybe you prefer a lighter accent with a light gray solid.

That's all for today!  I hope you enjoyed the eye candy!  I know I did!  Check back next week for some more patterns in new refreshed fabrics!

Until next time!
Amanda
