Country Summer Bonus Quilt

Hello!  I have been busy recently baking up a new recipe called Country Summer for the Moda Bake Shop in Lella Boutique's upcoming collection, Garden Variety.  I can't share that quilt yet, but it should be posted soon!  What I want to share with you today is the bonus quilt I made using the leftover fabric from my fat eighths.  I had a 5-1/2" square and a 2-1/2" strip of each print.  I played around with some options and am really happy with the result!

Curtain Call - Jelly Roll Quilt Tutorial

Hello! You may have heard that September 15th is the second annual National Sew a Jelly Roll Day (NSAJRD). You can find out more about that here. I thought it would be the perfect day to share a new quilt pattern tutorial that uses a jelly roll!

Regent Street Star Remix

Hello!  I'm back today to share another free tutorial with you!  Actually, I'm sharing how to modify another free tutorial.  If you've seen the Regent Street Star quilt by Kristina Brinkerhoff of Center Street Quilts, you know how amazing it is!  If you haven't, you should definitely check it out on the Moda Bake Shop

I love how quickly and easily her pattern goes together and of course I love star blocks!  When I won a fat quarter bundle of Bonnie and Camille's new collection, Smitten, I decided to resize the block so that I could make a larger quilt with multiple, smaller blocks.  That would allow me to use more of the prints from the bundle and include more colors.  I came up with a 24-inch block.  Nine blocks with sashing would give me an 80"x80" quilt.

My quilt top is not completed yet, but below is a digital version.  I'm calling it the Regent Street Star Remix!  Kristina graciously gave me the green light to share my modifications with you, so keep reading if you want to make my version!

Square Dance Mini Tutorial

Hello!  Recently, I shared my first tutorial over at the Moda Bake Shop for a quilt called Square Dance.  I also recently remade that quilt in Christmas fabric, as shown below.

That quilt uses either a layer cake or 4 charm packs.  I thought it would be fun to make a mini version that uses either one charm pack or 4 mini charm packs!

Spun Sugar - Fabric Selection

Happy Sunday!  After a dark and dreary day yesterday, it's bright and sunny today and it has me thinking of summer.  And summer means my Spun Sugar sew along!  I'm still working out the schedule, but I'm hoping to kick things off in early June.  If you saw my Instagram post from a few days ago, you saw my planned fabric choices.  I've since gotten a few questions about fabric requirements so I thought I'd go ahead and talk about some tips for fabric selection now in case anyone wants to get a head start on fabric shopping.

Ombre Wanderlust

Hello!  You've probably heard of the wonderful ombre fabrics from V and Co for Moda.  If not, you're missing out!  And as if those fabrics weren't awesome enough already, they now come with confetti! Of course, I had to make something with them.  I had a jelly roll, and had just finished the pattern for my jelly-roll friendly pattern, Wanderlust.  I decided that ombre rings would look pretty neat, so I made another quilt!

New Pattern - Window Box

Hello!  I've been away from the blog for a couple of months, and I'm looking forward to posting more often this year.  Some of you may know that we moved to a new home recently, and unpacking has been a lot more time-consuming than I expected.  That has delayed being able to really get back into the swing of things sewing-wise.  Most of the essentials are unpacked, and the rest is going to have to wait.

I have had so many ideas for new quilt patterns and I've finally had some time to work on them.  One of them is complete and ready for you!  I'm calling it Window Box!
