Friday Fabric Refresh - Log Jam Part 1

Happy Friday! Not only is it Friday, but it's the day before National Sew a Jelly Roll Day that is sponsored by Moda Fabrics and celebrates all things jelly roll!  If you're new to this annual celebration, check out Moda's blog post about it here

I'm celebrating this week by releasing my latest jelly roll pattern, Log Jam.  It's a log cabin quilt and it's super fun!  I used Tarry Town fabric by Kimberly Kight for Ruby Star Society for the cover quilt.

It's even more fun to see the quilt in different fabrics!  This week's Friday Fabric Refresh is all about Log Jam and because there are three layout options in this pattern, I'm going to focus on the cover version in this post and I'll be back later today with part 2 that will feature the other two options.  Let's jump right in!

I've been on a bit of a Ruby Star Society kick lately.  Another Ruby Star society collection that should be in shops soon is Stay Gold by Melody Miller.  This collection is so pretty and some of the fabrics even have a bit of gold metallic in them!

I also really like Alexia Abegg's Heirloom collection for Ruby Star Society.  This fabric was supposed to be in shops months ago but was delayed by the pandemic and global shipping problems (pretty much every fabric line for the past 18 months has been late, but this was really late).  It just showed up in shops this week so I had to include it!

Another fabric company that I have been drawn to a lot lately is Figo Fabrics.  I remade my Tumble pattern in Prickly Pear by Emily Taylor a few months ago (you can see one of my Instagram posts here.)  I think it would make a pretty Log Jam quilt too!

Another Figo Fabrics collection that I love is Hand Stitched by Karen Lewis.  I recently got my hands on this collection and it is just as pretty as I thought it would be.  I left out the green and orange prints and I love how the remaining fabrics look together!

Even though I may be expanding my fabric horizons, I'm still very much a Moda fan.  It may still be hot where I live, but fall is right around the corner and Corey Yoder's new Cozy Up collection is the perfect fabric to put me in a fall mood!

Of course, fall approaching means that Christmas will be close behind!  Lella Boutique's new Christmas collection, Christmas Morning is in stores now and would make a lovely holiday Log Jam quilt!

That's all for now!  Check back later today for Part 2 of my Log Jam Friday Fabric Refresh and be sure to check out your favorite social media channels tomorrow for all the National Sew a Jelly Roll Day fun!

Until next time,

Amanda
