Friday Fabric Refresh - Blue Hues

Hello!  Any Friday is a great day, but today is extra exciting for me.  The October issue of American Patchwork and Quilting hits newsstands today and my Blue Hues quilt is included!  The magazine version is shown below, and of course I had to feature this quilt for this week's edition of Friday Fabric Refresh!

This quilt was designed to use three different fabrics, plus background.  Blue is my favorite color and I decided to use a dark, medium, and light blue.  Each fabric in the magazine version is from the Catalina collection by Fig Tree.

Maybe you prefer red over blue?  Here is a red version in Catalina.

A pink version in Bloomington by Lella Boutique is sure to make a little girl happy!

Of course, you don't have to pick three fabrics in the same colorway.  Here is another Bloomington version in pink, black, and taupe.

Here are two more multi-color versions using navy, aqua, and pinks from Early Bird by Bonnie and Camille.

Holiday versions would also be fun!  Here is a Christmas version in Christmas Figs II by Fig Tree.

It's fun to play around with the location of each color.  Here are two All Hallows' Eve versions and it's always interesting to see how different a quilt will look by changing where colors are placed.

This pattern would also be a great use for solids!  Pick your favorite color and choose a dark, medium, and light shade.  Below I have a fun green, a sophisticated black and gray, a jewel-toned teal, and a warm honey yellow.

That's all for today!  I hope you'll look for the magazine the next time you're out (or order online!)  Are there other colors or fabrics that you would like to see this refreshed in?  Let me know in the comments and I'll try to make it happen!

Until next time,
Amanda
