Fabric Refresh - Sandalwood Quilt

Hello! I just released a new pattern so of course I have to dedicate a Fabric Refresh post to it! There are so many fabric options that look great with this pattern. In fact, I have so many mockups of this pattern to share that I'm going to get right to it!

Sandalwood quilt in Modernly Morgan Palette Picks

The first refreshed Sandalwood quilt I'm sharing is shown above and features the Palette Picks bundle by Modernly Morgan for Robert Kaufman. I absolutely love this color palette. It is so cheery and happy and bright. It would make a great spring quilt! This bundle is available as fat quarters, so I chose 12 of my favorite colors from the bundle for this mockup (12 is the number of fat quarters needed to make the quilt).

Friday Fabric Refresh - Stay Square Quilt Pattern Round-up

Note:  This post contains affiliate links.  I may receive a commission (at no extra cost to you) if you click a link and make a purchase.

Happy Friday!  Lately I've been thinking a lot about my Stay Square pattern.  It has been my most popular pattern release by far.  I shared a reel on Instagram this week of the quilt I made with Spooky 'n Sweeter and I was thinking back on all the mockups I have made of Stay Square.  I don't think I've ever tried a fabric collection that didn't look great with this pattern.  I decided to try something a little different for this week's Friday Fabric Refresh blog post and do a sort of "round-up" of all my Stay Square mockups.  Many have been shared before, but there are a few new ones that you are seeing here for the first time!

There are going to be a lot of pictures in this post and not too many words.  I'm going to skip the commentary and just give you the fabric information and a link to the original blog post that the mockup appeared on, if applicable.  Since it may get a little confusing as you scroll through, I will be placing the fabric name below each mockup.

A quick note about fabric requirements.  Some of these fabric collections do not have precut 10" squares (layer cakes) available.  The pattern does include instructions for fat quarters.  You need 12 but feel free to use more for more variety.  If a collection has less than 12 fabrics or less than 12 that you want to use, another option is to buy 9 half yards (or 1/3 yards if your quilt shop will cut that size) and cut four 10" squares from each.

Enjoy!

Friday Fabric Refresh - A Charmed Life

Happy Friday!  It's another month and another quilt featured in a magazine!  Don't get used to that though!  This latest quilt is the last magazine quilt in the pipeline (for now, hopefully).  It's just coincidence that I have had quilts in magazines released in April (Lake Life), May (Calm & Collected), and now June!

The August 2021 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting goes on sale today and I have a really fun charm pack quilt in this issue.  It is called A Charmed Life and uses three charm packs plus background.  I love that I could make a large throw quilt (76"x76") with just three charm packs!

Friday Fabric Refresh - Lake Life

I always love Fridays but today is extra exciting!  The June 2021 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting hits newsstands today and my Lake Life quilt is included!

I used Flowers for Freya by Linzee Kull McCray for Moda Fabrics.  This fabric recently started showing up in shops so it's perfect timing!

Below is the cover of this issue so you'll know what to look for!

When preparing a quilt design for submission to a magazine, I often try out a lot of fabric collections before deciding which ones to suggest.  Many of the ones I tried for this quilt have either recently arrived in shops or are scheduled to arrive very soon so I thought I'd share them for Friday Fabric Refresh!

Friday Fabric Refresh - Cider

Hello and happy Friday! This week felt like it flew by but I am also really looking forward to the weekend!  I don't have any errands to run so I should get lots of sewing time!  I'm currently sewing up a sample for a new pattern that will be released later this year.  I'm using Cider by Basic Grey for Moda Fabrics.  This collection has been long-awaited and it is finally in quilt shops!  I think it's going to be very popular so don't wait if you want to get your hands on some!

I decided to refresh some of my patterns in Cider for this week's Friday Fabric Refresh.  I might have gone a little overboard and I have lots of refreshed quilt patterns to show you today!  Let's jump right in!

First up is Window Box, which is a jelly roll pattern.  This pattern continues to be one of my bestsellers and I'm glad you all like it so much!

Friday Fabric Refresh - Good Fortunes

Hello and happy Friday!  I finally released my Good Fortunes pattern earlier this week!  This one took WAY longer than I planned, but better late than never, right?  Now that it's finally here, it's time to share some refreshed versions in different fabrics in case the fabric I used doesn't appeal to you.

The photo is above is my version of Good Fortunes using Lella Boutique's newest collection, Folktale  This fabric is so pretty and looks even better in person!  I love the dot fabric that I used for the background so much that I bought a whole bolt of it and I'm not sure that's going to be enough!

I know that everyone has different fabric tastes though so that's why I'm sharing some new versions of Good Fortunes with you today.  Let's jump right in!

Friday Fabric Refresh - Garden Charm

Happy Friday!!  Who else feels like this year is flying by extra fast all of a sudden?  I feel like I'm so behind on everything!  Normally, I would feature a pattern on a Friday Fabric Refresh post after I've released the pattern.

With 2020 being such a weird year, and with so many things not going according to plan, I decided to do things backwards and show you some refreshed versions first!  I hope to have the pattern ready before the end of the month, but I'm not making any promises!

Friday Fabric Refresh - Metro

Happy Friday!  Earlier this week, I released a new pattern called Metro.  Metro is a modern-looking honey bun or charm pack friendly pattern and I used the upcoming Balboa collection from Sherri and Chelsi.  I love the colors in that collection, but it's always fun to see how a quilt will look in different fabrics!
